{About Whitney Hatton}
Hi There, my name is Whitney Hatton. I am the owner a long with my husband of Hatton Vintage farmhouse. I am a picker, painter, crafter, creator, cook, baker, housewife, junker and into all things chippy with character. I started this business because it was something I loved to do for my own home. I look at my own home as my studio. We live in southeast Michigan in a small town called Southgate. I would love to say I have a big beautiful home but I don't. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment. That seems typical to newly weds. I looked at living in an apartment as a challenge. I had to nest with limitations. I made it work and made it our home. To me I live in my home, I don't have one of those magazine homes, I have a air conditioner by the window, an electric box by the front door and cream carpet. Yuck! Lol, I made it work though. I love coming home and making dinner and working on my projects, relaxing with Tayler( my husband) and just feel content.
I have always been a creative person. I went to art school for a brief moment, found a job as a stylist for window displays in retail and decided id rather dress mannequins and build mini worlds in windows then continue paying a mass amount of money for something I might never use. I lived in Chicago for 8 years and really found myself, I eventually hit my limit of partying and late rent payments and moved back to Michigan to live near my family. Best decision I ever made. A couple years passed living here and then I met my partner in crime and love of my heart, Tayler. He moved here all the way from Washington state. He was a life savor. I was just living day to day before him. He showed my how to enjoy life and he supported all my dreams. I had not been doing anything creative and his support got me back into it. I was working at a cubicle for a year and my company closed offices. I was laid off, and this gave me the chance to really decide what to do with my life. We decided to start our business. I didn't want to have to go back to a desk job and I knew this was my chance to do something I loved and creative but also make money and build a business I could help support our family with. This is our family business and I love making everything handmade and come up with new ideas and products. I love taking our trips to go junkin and pickin, finding all the great finds and bring them to our shows for people to decorate there homes with. That's the true love behind it, buying local creating and decorating your home to make it feel like a place you can come to and feel a sence of content. I want others to be able to accomplish the same thing I feel like I have a home, not just a house.

{About Hatton Vintage Farmhouse.}
Hatton Vintage Farmhouse is our business we started on a whim and a chance to be able to work and share my creative ideas. I create chippy farmhouse furniture, handmade signs and we go junkin and pickin to find amazing vintage items. I craft and make pillows and re do old items into something new. Every month of the year we plan to join pop up markets to sell and share Hatton Vintage Farmhouse. The best thing about these markets is that is all vendors handcraft and create what they sell. We love being apart of an event you can buy and sell local. We also do special orders, if you have a sign of pillow or anything handmade you would like place you order via our facebook page or email under the contacts section. We can also customize furniture, if you have something you want re done, sent us a picture and we can give your a quote. We are located in Southgate, Michigan, large items can be done locally and décor items we can ship as well. Message us with your request and we would be more than happy to make it happen for you. Enjoy the blog and start getting creative.
